About

Hypertrophic Press is a microscopic independent press that publishes both books and a quarterly literary magazine.

Our goal as a publisher is to put out books that evoke a physical reaction in our readers. We want to make you cry, cringe, scream, gasp, and laugh. We want to make you think. We want to make you feel. But these kinds of books don’t happen every day. Because of that, we don’t have a set publishing schedule. We don’t guarantee a number of books a year. We only publish books that we absolutely can’t say no to, that grab us and hurt us and don’t let go, and we’re willing to wait for them.

We do everything in-house: editing, design, layout, marketing – you name it. It takes a lot of time and patience to create these products from scratch, but it’s our passion. And that’s the key word of Hypertrophic Press: passion. We don’t discriminate against any genres or lengths or backgrounds when coming up with our list. We don’t care who you are, if you’ve been published before, if it’s your first book or seventy-fourth. What we do care about is that you are just as passionate about writing your book as we are about publishing it.

MASTHEAD

1Lynsey Morandin, Editor-in-Chief
Originally from Canada, Lynsey holds a degree and post-graduate certificate in book publishing. After working as an editor for an ad agency, a few national magazines, and two publishing houses, she decided to start her own press in order to publish what she loves and encourage up-and-coming writers.

2Jeremy Bronaugh, Creative Director
After moving to Alabama in 2010, Jeremy delved into the local literary scene. He founded multiple writing groups with the hope of promoting writing within his community and inspiring local authors. Eventually he co-founded Hypertrophic Press in order to give people more access to niche books and allow new authors the chance to be published.

Maddie Anthes, Acquisitions Editor
Maddie is from Cleveland, Ohio, and now lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and two dachshunds. She loves traveling, entering sweepstakes, cider, and Tudor history (team Anne Boleyn for life!). She earned her MA in English and MFA in Creative Writing from Arcadia University, and spends her days working and teaching at The College of New Jersey.

Lynsey, Jeremy, Maddie, and Jamie can be contacted via email at hypertrophicpress@gmail.com.
